Weapons of Spiritual Warfare

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:” 2 Corinthians 10:3 Soldiers must be prepared for war everyday. It’s imperative they use and have the right weapons, or they themselves might be killed. Although we may not be in the physical army, we are soldiers enlisted in God’s army. We too have “weapons,” spiritual weapons: God’s Word, prayer, and the spirit of gratitude.

God’s Word is the ultimate weapon. Use it and gain faith and strength to fight another day. Surely it will cut the enemy down and protect us all around.

Prayer is another mighty weapon. It is used against weaknesses (particularly our own weaknesses). It’s dangerous fainting when the battle is on. Prayer will keep us strong.

Gratitude is also a beneficial weapon. This spiritual warfare weapon is most effective in “elevating our mind” during war time. It proves good for the soul. I dare you to thank God for shielding you during the enemy’s attacks; for helping you to dodge his darts, and for covering your back; for providing trenches to hide until danger has passed or subsided. Last but not least, thanking Him no weapon the enemy has formed against you will proper.

“(For the weapons of our warfare is not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holes;)” 2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 54″17 KJV

In God, I will keep on thanking Him for the weapons of spiritual warfare: His Word, Prayer, and the spirit of Gratitude. By Hertistine Washington
