Hertistine Washington is a selfpublished author and loves to show gratitude in everything. She believes gratitude can be found in any area of her life. “Keep On Thanking” is her motto. She is a graduate of California State University Dominquez Hills, and a retired preschool teacher.

Hertistine was born in a small town in the open Mississippi delta called Hollandale. She is the sixth of twelve siblings. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. As a child she loved to draw faces and make up little quotes about certain things, while rhyming her words. She would intentionally answer her friends  with a rhyme, even though she knew it annoyed them at times. She had no idea this would one day lead into her method of writing.

Because she was very shy in expressing her true feelings, she never expected to become a writer. But after many years went by, and dealing with various life experiences and hardships, she began to seek God more closely through His Word. In His Word she found relief and answers to many challenges that crossed her path. As she continued to study, she grew in a deeper respect and love for God and His Word.

Her Method of Study First, she started her study by only journaling the Scriptures. She gained comfort as she would read them over and over, especially when she was struggling with a particular issue. Secondly, as she persisted in reading God’s Word, she added other components… written prayers, praises, and words of thanksgiving after each scripture written. Finally, this became her method of devotion. She would meditate and thank God for His insight and comfort. By following this method, she began thinking less about her circumstances, and “thanking” God more for His blessings. Hertistine believes thanking God through Jesus Christ, and daily meditating on His Word literally saved her life.

Her Discovery One day while meditating on  a particular scripture to thank God for who He was, she had an astounding revelation…”just keep on thanking God no matter what!” Oh wow, what freedom she felt! She felt as if she was in His very presence, talking face to face. It felt good! In her praise she began repeatedly acknowledging and thanking God for who He is, what He has done, is doing, and what He will forever do in her life, now and in the world to come.

As Hertistine continues to face some of life’s most unexpected challenges, she does not cease to thank God to the utmost! She knows and definitely believes thanking God is the answer we need. She  assures there is nothing like being alone with God, marinating in sweet communion of thanksgivings and praises to Him. She discovered the answer to her troubled mind was/is thanking God.

Her Results After many years went by, she gained a desire to compile her expressions of gratitude to God and for God in various writings and in a book, “Something To Thank About from A to Z.” Whether you’re visiting her website, (keeponthanking.com), or reading her first published book, “Something to Thank About from  A to Z”, she hopes you will truly find the power and strength that comes when you keep on thanking God for God in everything. She guarantees God will show up in ways you’ve never thought of, in ways you’ve never imagined.

Hertistine has come to realize that thanking God for Himself is truly the best thing. It’s the best thing in the morning, noon, and night. It’s the best thing throughout the day. It’s the best thing when your heart has been broken. It’s the best thing when your heart is uplifted! It’s the best thing as you “thank” and pray. It’s the best thing come sunshine or rain. She declares, in God it pays to keep on thanking Him for Him while going through anything.

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

In God, I will keep on thanking Him for who He is, has done, is doing, and will do. By Hertistine Washington
