Love’s Way: Day 9, Fact #9 “Love Rejoices With The Truth”

Good afternoon. Welcome back to another lovely evening, as we share Love’s Way on Love and Valentine’s Day. Day 9, Fact #9: LOVE REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. This means love does not rejoice, takes pleasure in, or takes delight with falsity and falsehood. Be real. Be honest. Be truthful. I ask you, do you delight when someone tells you the truth? If so, you should also tell the truth. For this is Love’s Way. When truth is told, lie goes. It cannot stay. Truth is… God is Truth. And Christians live their lives based on that fact (John 14:6). We rejoice in the truth because this is not only who God is, it is what He values, honors, and respects. With that, I’m so thankful truth brings us to the understanding of how to love God’s way. Remember the Bible says, “… Know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” So as you celebrate Love’s Way on Love and Valentine’s Day, be truthful to your Valentine in the things you say and do. Be honest. Be real. Don’t be false. Know that the truth or gestures of your love can be sweeter than candy. Therefore, I encourage you to rejoice in Love’s Way, knowing LOVE REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH.

Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 13:6b “… But rejoices with the truth.” John 8:32 “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Looking forward to sharing with you tomorrow, as we are getting closer to day 14. Thank you for joining in this evening. I pray you have a restful night, and may the blessings of the Lord be with you always.

Love’s Way: Day 8, Fact #8 “Love Does Not Rejoice at Wrong”

Good evening everybody. Welcome back. I’m again so grateful to continue to share with you, Love’s Way on Love and Valentine’s Day. Day 8, Fact #8: LOVE DOES NOT REJOICE AT WRONG. We can’t help but be clear on this fact, love’s character doesn’t rejoice with wrong; it cannot. Remember our first fact? God is love. Be sure, anyone who possesses His character will not take enjoyment in wrongdoing. As you celebrate love this season, I hope you will take delight not only in the things that pleases your Valentine, but also in the things that please God. That said, I pray you stay in line and treat your Valentine kind :)! It’s just a fact, any way in opposition to God’s way of loving is unacceptable and unkind. Simply remember, LOVE DOES NOT REJOICE AT WRONG. That is, love doesn’t desire to do anything that’s dishonest or inappropriate toward the one it loves. It will not rejoice nor participate in wrongful behavior. Love seeks a more excellent way. It seeks Love’s Way. As you recline on this wonderful evening, I ask, who or what are you rejoicing in this love season? I pray you are rejoicing in Christ’s way to love and His way to care for your Valentine, knowing LOVE DOES NOT REJOICE AT WRONG.

Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 14: 6a “It does not rejoice at wrongdoing.”

Looking forward to sharing with you tomorrow. And thank you for joining in, I pray you have an restful night. May the blessings of the Lord be with you always.

Love’s Way; Day 7, Fact #7 “Love Is Not Resentful”

Good evening everybody. Welcome back. Here we are in a brand new week, praise God! I’m so thankful to continue to share with you, Love’s Way on Love and Valentine’s Day. Day 7, Fact #7: LOVE IS NOT RESENTFUL. What is the meaning of resentful? It is holding on to feelings of bitterness, anger, grudges, or hurt because you think you have been mistreated, or have actually been. Still… LOVE IS NOT RESENTFUL. We must forgive. For this is Love’s Way.

God’s Word tells us, He is a forgiving God. And accepting His forgiveness can eliminate resentful feelings. Therefore, if your heart is being held hostage with resentful feelings, please pray and ask God for help to forgive. He will help you if you are willing. I pray you will let resentful feelings go, so you can continue to grow in God’s love. You will discover, His love is the only thing that can overpower bitterness, anger, and hurt. Hopefully, when relationship issues occur (as they will), you won’t hold grudges and leave them unresolved. Only express your feelings with the love of God. Again, as you settled in for the night meditate on Fact #7; LOVE IS NOT RESENTFUL, it forgives. Be assured, having a forgiving heart is the only way resentment won’t stay.

scripture reference: “...It is not irritable or resentful…” 1 Corinthians 13:5c

Looking forward to sharing with you tomorrow. Thank you for joining in, and I pray you have a restful night. May the Lord be with you always.

Love’s Way: Day 6, Fact #6 “Love is Not Irritable”

Good evening everybody. I hope your Sunday was one of rejoicing in the love of God. Welcome back. Here we are on Day 6, Fact #6 to share Love’s Way on Love and Valentine’s Day. Fact #6 is: LOVE IS NOT IRRITABLE. Wow, many of us may need to take a deeper look at this word, irritable. I mean, who doesn’t get irritable from time to time! That is, who doesn’t get annoyed, upset, moody, grumpy, cranky, impatient, or even snappy at times? Considering these, I don’t think many hands would go up, even mines. With that said, I believe LOVE IS NOT IRRITABLE is referring to something much deeper. I believe it’s referring to how the love of Christ should be displayed or modeled. God’s love should be displayed with patience, calmness, peacefulness, good temperedness, restfulness in obedience to Him; not with irritability.

Also, modeling God’s way of love, we will not be easily upset nor easily angered. If, however, you’re struggling with irritability… physically, mentally, domestically, or in any other way, be assured I am not here to judge. I am here to inform, encourage, and hopefully motivate you to love God’s way, as we come closer to celebrating Love and Valentine’s Day. As you recline for the evening in your favorite place, I pray you rest in this fact, LOVE IS NOT IRRITABLE; and that God can change the most irritable heart into one of peace through His Word.

Scripture reference: “…It is not irritable…” 1 Corinthians 13:5c

I hope you had a great weekend. And I’m looking forward to seeing you on Monday. Thank you for joining in, and I pray you have a lovely and restful night. May the blessing s of the Lord be with you always.

Love’s Way: Day 5; Fact #5 “Love Does Not Insist On It’s Own Way”

Good evening. Welcome back everyone. Again, I’m thrilled you’ve join me this Saturday evening on Day 5 to share Fact #5 of 14 on Love’s Way in celebration of Love and Valentine’s Day. Here it is: LOVE DOES NOT INSIST ON IT’S OWN WAY. Be mindful, however, the idea is not that love doesn’t insist. It simply doesn’t “selfishly” insists on it’s own way. There are times when love must insist on a particular way, God’s way; the right way. LOVE DOES NOT INSIST ON IT’S OWN WAY tells me that love is not about self and selfish motives. It’s not self-seeking. It’s not demanding. It’s not pushy. It’s not assertive for it’s own purposes. It does not insist on it’s own view. It does not force it’s way. It does not say ‘my way or no way’. Then, what does love do? Love seeks the good of others. Love is considerate. Love is thoughtful. Love wants the best for another. Love is understanding. Love works with you. Love hopes the best for you. Love will do for you to be all you can be. Love encourages and helps you grow. Now that’s Love’s Way, God’s way. Here’s to wishing you a lovely evening. Just bare in mind, LOVE DOES NOT INSIST ON IT’S OWN WAY. Love knows we’re in this together to support another.

Scripture reference: “It does not seek it’s own way…” 1 Corinthians 13:5b

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening. Thank you for joining in, and I pray you have a lovely and restful night. May the blessings of the Lord be with you always.

Love’s Way: Day 4; Fact #4 “Love is Not Arrogant or Rude”

Good evening friends. Welcome back to another evening on Love’s Way, as we continue to celebrate 14 facts on love until Valentine’s Day. But first, how was “your” day? I hope it was one of being loved and sharing love. I also hope you are ready to hear Fact #4 on Love’s Way. It is: LOVE IS NOT ARROGANT OR RUDE. Have you ever encountered an arrogant or rude person in your relationship or marriage? That is… one who exemplifies dominance, control, superiority, a high opinion of self, inconsideration, and disrespect? How did that make you feel? Did it make you feel loved and appreciated? If not, you may have encountered Mr. or Ms. Arrogant, or Mr. or Ms. Rude. If you have, I hope you’ve allowed the love of God to have healed your heart by now. If not, however, just ask God for a forgiving heart, and than thank Him that you survived and now growing stronger in the knowledge of God’s way of love. Be assured, these two behaviors definitely represent what love is not. I want everyone this evening to know that if you are experiencing arrogance and rudeness in your relationship, you deserve better. You deserve to be loved God’s way; and that is with humility, love, and respect. This evening let God pour His kind of love into your heart. Receive it. So as you settle in for the night, I pray His love comforts and fills your heart. May His word comforts you to know LOVE IS NOT ARROGANT OR RUDE.

Scripture reference: “…It is not arrogant or rude…” 1 Corinthians 13:4c,5a

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening. Thank you for coming, and I pray you have a lovely and restful night. May the blessings of the Lord be with you always.

On this evening, I hope you will join me in praying and meditating on Fact #3, as you prepare for a good night’s rest. Only be still and listen to what God wants to say to you. Let us pray: Dear Lord, we are grateful to learn facts on Love’s Way, which is Your way of love. We are grateful to know that LOVE DOES NOT ENVY OR BOAST. This evening, help us to be satisfied with You and what you have blessed us with. Lastly, help us to only make our boast in You, for You are worthy. in Jesus name, amen.

Love’s Way: Day #2, Fact #2 “Love is Patient and Kind”

In celebration of Love and Valentine’s Day, I again welcome you to the second evening of love. I hope you’re feeling relaxed and free of distractions, reclining in your favorite chair, or resting on your bed. That said, I’m so glad you decided to join me, and I hope you are ready to hear Love’s Way.

Fact #1 has already told us who Love is, right? : God is love. So this evening, I want to simply share a second fact on Love. It won’t take a lot of writing. Not a lot of reading; Not any nitpicking. Solely the fact that LOVE IS PATIENT AND KIND. Before you retire for the night, let that sink in. Let it sink in until God gives you the revelation that you need. I surely don’t know what revelation that would be, and I dare not pretend to know. But God does. Therefore, sometimes you might need to repeat Fact #2 slooooowly (three or four times) before you actually hear what the Spirit is saying to you. But first, listen to this Love Alert: Be advised, this evening of love is not about your husband or your wife; not about the other woman or the other man; nor your significant other, and surely not your sister or your brother. It’s about you and me growing in the knowledge that LOVE IS PATIENT AND KIND that we may be demonstrators of God’s love to the world. Simply put, love doesn’t get in a hurry. It is tolerant. It is patient, and it is kind enough to listen, wait, and receive. Ask yourself, am I patient and kind enough to listen, wait, and receive, especially on this evening of love? Again, let that marinate. Just stir it around in your mind so that the Holy Spirit can imprint in your conscious and subconscious… LOVE IS PATIENT AND KIND.

Scripture reference: “Love is patient and kind… 1Corinthians 13:4a

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening. Thank you for coming, and I pray you have a lovely and restful night. May the blessings of the Lord be with you always.

A Heart of Love

As you know Valentine’s Day is approaching; “The Love Day,” as referred to by many. Did you know that while some historians believe that Valentine’s Day commemorates the death of St. Valentine on February 14, others believe it actually has it’s origins in a Pagan fertility festival called “Luperalia” which was celebrated February 15 in ancient Rome? It wasn’t always celebrated with love and romance by everyone. I encourage you to research the history of Valentine’s Day. You will discover many interesting facts. You will discover how this holiday got switched around and is now focused on love, romance, and the sweet stuff :)! Are you also aware that love fulfills the law of Christ, and that we as Christians are called to love? Jesus said love one another. God is love, and it’s His love in our hearts that gives us a heart of love.

From researching how Valentine’s Day could have stemmed from Paganism to celebrating about love, reminded me of how God can take any confusing or questionable time in history and change it for the betterment of humanity. He can also take hard hearts (any heart) and change them into loving and affectionate hearts. With that said, if you have bitter and envying, hate and resentment in your heart, know that your heart is not too hard for God to change. Simply invite Jesus into your heart, and He will do the work. He will make the change. He can give you a heart of love.

“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” I Peter 4:8

Please pray with me: Dear Lord, I will keep on thanking you for a heart of love, in Jesus name, amen. By Hertistine Washington / keeponthanking.com

May the blessings of the Lord be with you today!
