In a Rush?

running-2353880__480“Order my steps in thy word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me” (Psalm 119:133 KJV). One early morning I found myself rushing. Then I thought, many of us jump out of bed, rushing. We rush to the bathroom and rush to brush our teeth. We even rush to get a bite to eat. Then, we rush out the door on to the street. We rush to our jobs because there are deadlines to meet.

Oh, how we rush! Are you rushing today? I urge you, show down. If you must rush, first rush to the Word of God. It is a good way to pace ourselves. Start with His Word first and watch our steps fall in line. Let’s not be guilty of rushing our lives away.

Now, Lord, please forgive us. We all fall short in making your Word our priority, our passion, our first thought. Lord, help us to hurry to you before anything else. Please help us to pace oursellves enough to first rush to your Word.

“Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way” (Proverbs 19:2 ESV).

“I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments” (Psalm 119:60 ESV).

“Time keeps moving; it’s never late, and will never wait.”

“Let’s not serve time; serve while we have time.”

“It pays to know what time it really is.”

Paid Already

20170703_073536

Can you imagine how wonderful it would be if when you got to the grocery counter, the cashier announced the price for your groceries have been paid already? It didn’t matter how much you bought, what you bought, nor the cost; your price has been paid in full!

In essence that’s what Jesus did for us. He paid the price of sin making it possible for us to go home, eat, and commune in sweet fellowship with God.  How did He pay this price? Not with cash, check, or credit card, but with His precious Blood.

So when the grocery clerk handed you the receipt, it would be stamped, “PAID ALREADY.” We all can be thankful Jesus paid the debt of our sin and didn’t ask for a refund.

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” ( 1 Corinthians 6:20 KJV).

GGN’s on the awareness of God:

“God didn’t wake us up, just to be woke; it may be time for a praise.”

“With God’s peace comes a great calm.”

“It pays to praise God’s magnificence, and not our significance.”

“If we keep Jesus as front and center, there’s no need for an outfielder.”

“Live each day in gratefulness with faithfulness.”

That Little Big Thing

1498659212430706772001Sometimes we can do a little thing, but it can be big in the eyes of God. The small stuff counts with God, as well as the big stuff. If we do little things with a big heart, that too can glorify God. It could be as simple as surprising someone with flowers, opening a door, sharing a smile, or saying, “good job.” These things may seem small to man, but not to God. Doing little things and sharing words of encouragement is “That Little Big Thing” that produces major results in a person’s life.

So whatever “That Little Big Thing” of yours you do, keep doing it. Make somebody’s day. You can make their day bigger and better by simply sharing a small act of kindness. Never mind how many little big things you do, just remember God said, “do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.” Little things matter to God.

“As you would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise” (Luke 6:31 KJV).

Jesus? Who Is He?

20170625_081223

“And Simon Peter answered and said, thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16 KJV). Most have heard the song, “Do You Know Who Jesus Is?” I ask you, do we really know who Jesus is according to the Holy Bible; not only from a song, voice, poem, or picture? Where in scripture does it say, Jesus is the Savior? Can we name at least one place?

Have you ever been asked, who is Jesus? Where can I find Him? Those are very good questions if someone is searching and in need of Salvation. To be an effective and efficient witness for Christ, we all are challenged to study the Holy Bible to show ourselves approved and not be ashamed. It is a must to tell someone how they can find, and know the identity of Christ.

The Holy Bible is the book, the right source, our evidence that tells the identity of Jesus. I encourage you, as I do myself, to study, and be ready with an answer of the hope that lies within us. Someone’s very life will depend on it. Ours did.

“For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ” (Acts 18:18 KJV).

A Glorious View

images (1) (1)

“The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters” (Psalm 29:3 KJV). One evening while sitting with friends in a lovely decorated room adjacent to a mellowing body of water, a friend turned to me and said, “I love a room with a view.” I replied, “I do too.”

As evening drew near, I noticed how the room’s beautiful chandeliers reflected through the windows across the calming water to create an array of shining lights. What a spectacular view I thought! I couldn’t help but think about the glorious view of God when I’m alone in my room with Him. There’s no need for shining chandeliers, because Jesus is the Shining Light. No need for mellowing waters, seeing that He’s the Living Water. No need for wide opened windows, because He’s the window to my soul. No need for fancy decorations, since it’s enough to be alone with Him; He’s my view.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John1:14 KJV).

In God, I will keep on thanking Him for providing such a glorious view of Himself through His Word.
