Weapons of Spiritual Warfare

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:” 2 Corinthians 10:3 Soldiers must be prepared for war everyday. It’s imperative they use and have the right weapons, or they themselves might be killed. Although we may not be in the physical army, we are soldiers enlisted in God’s army. We too have “weapons,” spiritual weapons: God’s Word, prayer, and the spirit of gratitude.

God’s Word is the ultimate weapon. Use it and gain faith and strength to fight another day. Surely it will cut the enemy down and protect us all around.

Prayer is another mighty weapon. It is used against weaknesses (particularly our own weaknesses). It’s dangerous fainting when the battle is on. Prayer will keep us strong.

Gratitude is also a beneficial weapon. This spiritual warfare weapon is most effective in “elevating our mind” during war time. It proves good for the soul. I dare you to thank God for shielding you during the enemy’s attacks; for helping you to dodge his darts, and for covering your back; for providing trenches to hide until danger has passed or subsided. Last but not least, thanking Him no weapon the enemy has formed against you will proper.

“(For the weapons of our warfare is not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holes;)” 2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” Isaiah 54″17 KJV

In God, I will keep on thanking Him for the weapons of spiritual warfare: His Word, Prayer, and the spirit of Gratitude. By Hertistine Washington

Invisible Company

I’m here in the wind. I’m here in the breeze. I’m here in the traffic, in spite of the racket.

I’m here in the trees. I’m here in the flowers; in the insects, even the honey bees.

I’m here on the mountain, in the clouds too; in your father, mother, sister brother, and you too.

I’m all around, up and down, over, under and all about; not hard to find, no need to shout.

I’m  closer than your heart beat, and your warm breath. I’m the “One” guiding your feet and your every step.

Stop. Look. Listen… Listen…. Listen…. It is I, your heavenly Father, your teacher, your invisible company keeper.

“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.” Psalm 139:7-10 KJV

In God, I will keep on thanking Him for His presence.  By Hertistine Washington

A Glimpse of Glory

Early this morning  as I bowed and prayed, I saw God’s radiant sun shining through my window. It rushed in like a beam of light, only staying for a moment; as quickly as it appeared the clouds covered it. In my mind I thought, ‘thank you Lord, for saying “hello” with your shinning light.’ I felt blessed to see a glimpse of His glory that shone so bright.

“His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Habakkuk 3:4  NIV

“Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory.  Amen and Amen.”   Psalm 72:19 NIV

High Waves

20170420_123246

We are aware that high waves sometimes arise from the ocean and travel to the seashore. In our everyday life we can also experience some high waves that seen to overtake us. But something always prevents that from happening; God’s love for us. His insurmountable love will not let us be succumbed by the high waves of life.

When life waves are rushing in, take courage.  Don’t yield or capitulate to fear. Stand in faith knowing the God we serve is near. His love will keep us in His grip, as we sail above the waves in His ship.

So rest in His love, no matter how the waves come. Be assured He can handle all the waves, and not just some.

Let’s be calm as calm can be, knowing His love is mightier than the waves of the sea.

“The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.”   Psalm 93:4 KJV

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7

In God, I will keep on thanking Him for the power of His love.  by Hertistine Washington
