“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. and let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athrirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17 KJV).
“One day I heard a young man say, regarding prioritizing God’s presence, “just show up.” I must say, I was moved to the depths of my soul. This was a great reminder for me to keep on thanking God for “His” reminder to maintain focus on Him. There is nothing, nor anyone more important than God. If we show up for everything, and have not shown up for God, we’re missing the essence of life.
So brothers and sisters, family and friends, young and old, rich and poor, I encourage us all to do as that young man said, “just show up.” Don’t try to figure it out, show out, or give God instructions. Simply come to Him with the willingness and openness to receive. He will speak to our hearts. He will fill that empty vessel. He’s there. Wait on Him. Remember Jesus said, “Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Mark 8:43 KJV). Lord, forgive us for not showing up to meet you as You would desire us to.
In God, I will keep on thanking Him for showing up for me. By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com
