How Good It feels to Be Hugged By You!

Sometimes we all just need a hug. The word “Hug “only contains three letters, but it does so much. It has great power, in that it fosters H- healing; U-understanding; and G- gratitude. It produces joy, warmth, and good vibes for the giver, as well as the receiver. It can be a greeting that leaves the feeling of being accepted and appreciated. Or, it can be an expression of good-bye, indicating that one is loved and going to be missed. That’s the way I feel at the end of my  water aerobics workout.

At the end of each class I, along with other pool attendants, gather in prayer in a big circle and shout, “Hug Somebody!” This phrase resonates in my ear everyday as I prepare myself for the class. There I know I’m going to get a great big group hug at the ending of the session, which helps motivate me to return :)!

Still, far better than that, I’m so thankful for the hugs I feel everyday from our Heavenly Father. We are His children and He loves and ‘hugs’ us one and all. I hope we will, as our aerobics group shouts in the pool, “Hug Somebody” today, and know how good it feels to be hugged by Him!

And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him” (Luke 15:20).

I will keep on thanking God, for His loving embrace.  By Hertistine Washington/ keeponthanking.com
