Amongst the boxes and the bows, the ribbons and the giving ; the dangling mistletoes, I hope we see Jesus.
Amongst the bright and shiny lights, the starry nights; amidst the sights, I hope we see Jesus.
Amongst the stuff, the chitter and the chatter, I hope we see the ‘One’ who always matter. I hope we see Jesus.
Amongst the gifts beneath the tree, I hope we remember the one born for you and me. I hope we see Jesus.
Amongst the online shopping or from a store, I hope we hear the one knocking at our door. I hope we see Jesus.
Amongst the stuff, let’s not fuss if we feel we didn’t get enough. I hope we see Jesus.
Amongst the climate that we’re in, I hope we know we still have a friend. I hope we see Jesus.
I pray we see, though born in a stable, He is still with us, and oh so able!
And if we’ve gotten what we think we wanted, I hope we realize amongst our stuff that nothing really matters as much and without Jesus.
Merry Christmas everybody!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace” (Isaiah 9:6, ESV).
“Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
I will keep on thanking God for the inexpressible gift of his Son. Dear Lord, thank you for the ‘One’ perfect gift of Christmas, your Son Jesus. Amen. By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com
