We do many things to guard ourselves from danger. We buy auto insurance to guard from having to pay in case we get in an accident. We purchase home security systems to guard against home invasions. Some even buy a mouth guard to protect their teeth from injury. But what about our minds? Have you considered the importance of guarding your mind from unwarranted thoughts that can bring you down, hinder your progress, and in some cases discourage you from doing what you know is right to do?

Since there is power in how we think, we should never underestimate this power. How and what we think can hurt or help us. It could produce failure or success. Jesus said “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus;” “Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” The things above are the things of God. Let us shield our minds with His Word.  It will surely safeguard us from low, harmful, and damaging thoughts.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” Philippians 4:8 KJV.
