Unlock The Writer’s Block

Here I am sitting on my couch, with an urge to write with nothing in my mind or spirit, only a desire. So, I decided to stop scratching my head (before pulling out my hair), and go and sit at my computer, while saying a little prayer. I said, “Oh, Lord, if there is something You want me to write, grant it to me please or remove this desire before I pull out my hair, and withdraw my fingers from these computer keys.”

Still, there I sat, fingers on the keyboard with no inspiration coming. Then before I knew it, I began writing what I was feeling and thinking: “Surely, there are others,” I thought, “that have been here too; at a stalemate, a deadlock, on what to write when thoughts and words are few. I said to myself, “It’s okay. There’ll be another day. God is not finished with me yet; He’s always given me something to say.” Then, with calmness of mind and comforting words, I began to thank the Lord and write down exactly what I had heard:

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6)

I will keep on thanking God for the strength to keep on keeping on; though words seems few, God always has something to say to me and you, as He just did! I encourage you, when you have a writer’s block or any other block, don’t stop; just keep showing up! By Hertistine Washington / keeponthanking.com
