To Remember Jesus

“When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken” (John 2:22 ESV). Father God, I thank You for what You went through that we might have life eternal, life anew. We remember You. Before dying the death of the cross, You endured many things for us who were lost.

Thank You for suffering humiliation and degradation from a sinful, crooked, and rebellious nation. You were ridiculed and accused, lied on and spied on, spat on and ratted on, betrayed, but not dismayed; never saying a mumbling word which no one can say they heard.

Your hands and your feet were nailed to the cross for all to see, and hopefully one day to seek. You were whipped and given vinegar to sip; You were pierced in the side as the crowd stood by; some mocked, others cried and sighed. Yet, for all men you still died. Knowing that You had a job to do and that You were the only One worthy and qualified to see it through, we remember You.

You were buried in a borrowed tomb. Not to stay there, but to rise early that Sunday morning before noon! In three days, as You said, You were RAISED from the dead! Therefore, we shout Halleluyah to the King of kings and Lord of lords, for the joy and Salvation You did bring! Jesus, we remember You.

“Which he will display at the proper time, he is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords” (1Timothy 6:15 ESV).

I will keep on thanking God for all He has done in providing for my salvation. Dear Lord, thank you for the mind to remember and share what You did from the foundation of the world, from the cradle to the cross, and by Your resurrection to save the lost, in Your name we pray, amen.
