The Gift that Lifts

20180408_164226

Have you ever been surprised with an unexpected gift/s? If you have, I’m sure it brightened your day. That’s what happened to me yesterday. After such a busy week, I was surprised with seven unexpected gifts at different times from three of my friends. They had no idea of how exhausted I was, and could use a lift. I’m grateful that from their hearts they shared their gifts. They were not big huge gifts, but simple ones; a bouquet of flowers, a thank you card, a bag of potato chips, a bag of popcorn, two packs of ginger tea, a can of almond nuts, and an Easter box of goodies. My heart overflowed with gratitude to God for them, and for showing His love and care for me in this simple, but big hearted way.

The love of my friends and their gifts lifted me. They made me think of that precious gift that keeps on lifting and giving everyday. The gift of the Holy Spirit. He keeps on lifting and surprising us with His gift of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. As you begin a new week, let the gift of the Holy Spirit give you a lift by soothing, bathing, and massaging in Him. He will brighten your day and make you happy, so that you can brighten someone else’s day, and make them smile.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22 ESV)

Nothing too Hard for God

received_579133442448379

There’s not a giant God can’t slay.

There’s not a tear God can’t wipe away.

There’s not a pain God don’t know.

There’s not a life God can’t grow.

There’s not a hurt God can’t heal.

There’s not a sin God can’t reveal.

There’s not a feeling God cant’ soothe.

There’s not a mountain God can’t move.

There’s not a foe God can’t band.

There’s not a reach beyond God’s hand.

“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27 ESV)

I will keep on thanking God because He can do the hard stuff. By Hertistine Washington /keeponthanking.com

Breakfast With Jesus

received_577988985896158

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelation 3:20 NIV).

Jesus wants to come in and eat with us. Why not open the door of your heart and invite Him in for breakfast?  To decide to eat your first meal of the day with the Lord Christ is a great way begin an awesome day! Have breakfast with Him and watch how fulfilled you become.

The amazing thing about having breakfast with Jesus is that we don’t have to prepare the meal. He has already prepared it… and sat the table. Jesus will gladly pour us a cup of juice squeezed fresh from the Fruit of the Spirit. He’ll never need a toaster; he can make toast from Himself, the “Bread of Life.” No need to worry about the main course. It will  be provided from His Word; included with choice sides that will sustain us until our next meal. So eat up, and have a “heart-ty” breakfast with Jesus. Every morning He’ll fill us up and leave us satisfied.

I will keep on thanking God for His willingness to dine with me. By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.co.com

Jesus’s Return

d5a9120ee1241813cfccb291c6fe1d69--a-dream-clouds

“He who testifies of these things says, “surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20 ESV)

Jesus is coming back, cold or hot, sunshine or rain. Jesus is coming back just he same. He’s coming back for you and for me, to transition from time, to live eternally.

Jesus is coming back for the living and the dead. Jesus will return, just as “Jesus” said. He’s coming back, whether we’re glad or mad, smiling or frowning, serving or clowning.

Jesus is coming back, so says His Word. Please tell every man, woman, boy and girl. He’s coming back and that’s no fairy tale. He’s coming back and that’s a fact.

Jesus is coming back. You must be born again. He’s coming back, calling time to an end. He’s coming back.; keep looking up. You’ll see Him in the clouds, coming back for us.

Jesus is coming back; every eye will behold, His holy Word unfolds. He’s coming back. Let that resonate in your mind. Return, He will. Don’t be left behind!

I will keep on thanking God for coming back for me.  by Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com. (written September 3, 1016)

God’s Wash Cloth

Cleans from my head to my feet. That’s what God’s wash cloth does for me.

Cleans everything about me, even when bowed on bended knee.

Cleans from without and within; never gets dirty, and never rends.

Wipes away every tear from my eye; from the store, I  cannot buy.

Cleans deeper than the daily cloth I use; even washes away the stain from being abuse.

God’s wash cloth is the Blood of the Lamb; it saves the soul from being dammed. It’s more durable than “ready wipe;” an everlasting cloth that cleans on sight… with all might.

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow”(Psalm 51:7 ESV).

He said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:14 ESV).

One Thing

number1

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple” (Psalm 27:4 ESV). At one time, a famous TV personality would conclude his daytime show by informing his audience of “Just One More Thing.” That’s my goal in sharing this scripture, to remind us of “one thing.” In life many of us think that if we can get that “one thing” started or done, we can see our way clear and be on our way. Sometimes that can be very true, but sometimes not. Do you know many purchase lottery tickets in hopes of getting one thing… that winning ticket? They think by hitting the big lotto they will be set for life. Sadly, statistic proves different. As quickly as their fortune came, many lost it. They lost it by failing to do wisely just one thing… investing.

I assure you, there is one thing that supersedes any of our earthly endeavors. There is one thing we can invest in to secure our life through eternity. That one thing is to seek to dwell in the house of the Lord forever, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. Is that your one thing? Is that your desire? That “one thing” will make the difference between living a life of bondage to living a life of eternal freedom in Christ. No matter our desires on earth, let’s be sure to make our ultimate desire is to seek the Lord and make heaven our home… just that “one thing.”

I will keep on thanking God for reminding me of what takes priority in this life in order to gain eternal life. By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com

The Loan

“The earth is the LORD’S and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers’ (Psalm 24:1-2 ESV).

I ask myself, what did I make? What did I create?

Nothing I have, I own. All I have is a loan.

What was made, God gave. What was created was His design.

Nothing I have is mine.

I’m thankful for His gracious loan

He shares with me towards my journey home.

I will keep on thanking God for the blessing of stewardship.  By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com
