Most have heard and appreciate the song, “Bless The Lord, O My Soul.” And what a wonderful song it is… to bless the Lord (yourself) with all that is within you! You may ask, how does one really bless the Lord, when He has everything? All belongs to Him! Let me share three of the many ways you are sure to bless the Lord:
First, if you know God, you can bless the Lord through worship, praise, and thanksgiving; acknowledging Him for who He is and for what He has done. Do you know that He was Jesus Incarnate, and through Him, He has done great things for you? Next, you can bless the Lord by blessing others; praying on their behalf, giving a hug or a smile, offering an encouraging word, or giving a helping hand. And thirdly, you can bless the Lord by blessing yourself. Clearly put, when you bless the Lord, you have already blessed yourself with the blessings that comes from blessing the Lord. The blessing is in “knowing” who you have in Jesus; a Savior, Helper, Healer, Strengthener, Friend, Lover, and so much more. In blessing the Lord, you will always reap the blessing. So, go ahead and bless the Lord, and experience the blessing you have already received.
“Then David said to all the assembly, ‘Bless the LORD your God.’ And all the assembly blessed the LORD, and the God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and paid homage to the LORD and to the king” (1 Chronicles 29:20).
I will keep on thanking God for the blessings that comes with the privilege of blessing His name. By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com
