Now that we’ve looked in the mirror and taken a look at our priorities, let’s consider how we are walking. Are you aware that models are careful about the way they walk? They are on a runway, and they know people are gazing at their every move. They are not perfect, but they hope to portray the best walk possible. I bet many are nervous, hoping that their next step is not a stumble or a fall. Still, no matter how nervous, they have faith to believe they will walk successfully on that runway from start to finish.
Have you paid attention to how you walk? Physically speaking that’s something we seldom think about, right? Sometimes we just get up and start walking without looking down or around. Maybe that’s why we stump our toes at times. But nevertheless, if we stumble, walk straight, hunched over, or make use of a walking aid, we must strive to have the best spiritual walk possible.
Just like the models on the runway pay attention to how they walk, we must pay even more attention on how we walk spiritually. Are we walking in love? Are we walking in wisdom? Are we walking by faith? Know that we are models (God’s models), and the world is looking at us. We also are on a runway– God’s runway. Every step we take, every move we make is being observed at by Him. Just as the earthly judges note a model’s moves, our Heavenly Judge notes ours. The difference being, He knows we stumble and may even fall at times, but if we keep our eyes on the runway that leads to life through salvation in Christ, we are sure to have a walk that’s pleasing to Him.
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” Ephesians 5:1-2.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil” Ephesians 5:15-16.
“For we walk by faith, and not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7.
I will keep on thanking God for making me mindful of how I live before Him and others. By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com
