What Are You Looking For?

As we conclude our Saturday October series on the word “Look”, let us lastly take a look at “What Are You Looking For?”

We know some people are looking for many things in the earthly or physical realm in order to be successful in this life. Things such as a good education, a great job/career, and a big beautiful house. These are just a few of the things most are in search of. Many will work tirelessly, forsaken all others to achieve their goal.

But what are ‘you” looking for? Be mindful, there’s nothing wrong in seeking success and wanting to live the best life possible. We all desire a good life. And God wants us to live our best life possible here on earth. But if you’re looking ‘only’ in this world, putting ‘all’ your energy, time, and pursuits in what the world offers, there is a good chance your search will end at a dead end. For that reason, I’m admonishing and encouraging you to look to Jesus.

Don’t let your search begin and end in the earthly realm, where there is no lasting profit. I ask you, are you looking for peace that passes all understanding, contentment, joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction? If you are, you will not find them in your worldly pursuits. You can only find them… if you look to Jesus. He has what you need. He is the answer to your search. He will bring the spiritual blessings to your life that the world can never give.

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2)

I will keep on thanking God I have found what I was looking for–Jesus; my search is over.  By Hertistine Washington/keeponthanking.com
